Explore, Strategize, and Survive in this Unique Hybrid of Roguelite and Tower Defense by Solo Developer qLate

[Ukraine] January 20, 2025 Solo developer qLate and independent publishing platform indie.io are thrilled to announce the upcoming release of Everwarder, an exhilarating blend of roguelite action and tower defense gameplay. Set to launch February 6th on Steam, Everwarder invites players to step into a neon-soaked world where darkness creeps ever closer, and the fate of a trapped spirit rests in their hands.

In Everwarder, players embody a mystical guardian charged with protecting a crystal that houses their trapped friend. As the darkness expands, enemies emerge, threatening the crystal's safety. To survive, players must strategically place defenses, gather resources, and engage in fast-paced, action-packed combat—all within procedurally generated worlds that ensure fresh challenges every run.

Unlike traditional tower defense games, Everwarder introduces free movement, allowing players to explore the map and gradually reveal its secrets. Players must not only protect their crystal,  but also forge their path through an ever-changing map, uncovering resources, and pushing back the encroaching darkness. This unique combination of active exploration and strategic defense sets the game apart, creating a constant sense of discovery while challenging players to think carefully about their defenses. The question is not if the light will fade—but how long it will shine before being snuffed out.

Every run presents unique challenges and evolving mechanics, ensuring no two sessions feel the same. Players unlock new abilities, artifacts, and tools, with opportunities to create overpowered builds. Each decision—whether upgrading units, collecting resources, or combining artifacts —matters. Failure is simply another step forward in the game’s overarching progression system, where resources earned unlock new unit tiers, artifacts, and upgrades, allowing players to return stronger and last longer against the darkness.

"With Everwarder, I wanted to create something that breaks away from the static nature of traditional tower defense games,” said Oleh, the solo developer of qLate. “The core of this game is that you control the flow of enemies, making it entirely your responsibility if they overwhelm your defenses.”

Everwarder has already captured the attention of fans during its showcase appearances in Steam Next Fest, drawing praise for its smooth animations, and its unique blend of exploration, resource management, and active gameplay.

Players will test their strategies, wield powerful artifacts, and discover how long their light can shine against the darkness when Everwarder launches on Steam on February 6th. Players can wishlist and follow the game now to stay updated on its release and future announcements. Join the conversation and connect with the community on Everwarders official Discord.
