January 20, 2026 — The demo for Subway Invasion launches on Steam on January 20, giving players an early chance to step into the opening moments of the game ahead of its appearance in Steam Next Fest this February.

The demo is drawn directly from the start of the full game and is built to introduce players to Subway Invasion’s core combat and wave-based structure. Players move and fight exactly as they will in the final release, using pistol-based combat to survive escalating waves of alien enemies in tight underground spaces.

Across the demo, players encounter multiple enemy types and a wave system that mixes standard waves with two event waves, encouraging replayability through score chasing and experimentation. Environmental traps such as falling roof sections and lockable doors are available, allowing players to engage with the space as well as the enemies within it.

A limited version of the upgrade system is included, with five upgrades available. These upgrades function the same as in the full game, with caps in place to keep the experience focused while still allowing players to explore different approaches.

The demo runs approximately 15 to 30 minutes and is designed to establish pacing, teach the core mechanics, and give players room to experiment. There are no demo-exclusive features. Later-game content is simply not present, and all mechanics shown will remain consistent in the final release. The demo concludes with an end screen that hints at what follows beyond the opening section.

The Subway Invasion demo is available to download for free on Steam.
