Independent studio Broken Cane, in partnership with indie.io, is thrilled to announce that Aris Arcanum, the studio’s spellcraft-driven roguelite of ink and intellect, is now available on Steam. Following its debut at Gamescom and PAX West, where players praised its hand-painted art, atmospheric storytelling, and inventive spell customization, Aris Arcanum invites players to confront the cost of forbidden knowledge in a world where magic itself has turned against its masters.

Once the appointed overseer of Atramancy, the study of the mysterious, living substance known as Ink, scholar Clyde must now face the chaos his pursuit of knowledge unleashed. His mentor lost to corruption, the Library of Aris collapsing around him, Clyde descends into the depths to reclaim reason from madness. Every step takes him closer to understanding the Ink’s nature… or to becoming its next victim.

Each descent into the Library feels like turning a new page in Clyde’s story. Every chamber, every ink-stained corridor reveals fragments of what came before, echoes of failed scholars, corrupted experiments, and secrets that refuse to stay buried. 

Set in a Victorian-inspired world of arcane academia, Aris Arcanum combines deliberate, rhythmic combat with deep roguelite progression.
