[United States] – October 27, 2025 – Red Rock Gaming Studios and indie.io are proud to announce that BoneField is now available on Steam in Early Access. Set in rural Montana, this horrifying tale will take players on a journey into the heart of corporate darkness, while they fight for survival against terrifying tormentors every step of the way.

BoneField is a gritty, realistic survival horror with players observing the struggle through the narrow lens of a bodycam. The camera is worn by a private investigator pursuing a seemingly straightforward case of corporate greed and misconduct - and soon becomes a source of horror itself, with visual artifacts, dirt, and grime making every glance that much more uncertain. Did something move in the darkness, or was that just a speck on the lens? 

Survival requires quick thinking and reflexes: Each level is combined with a distinct enemy that stalks players as they explore them to find clues that advance the investigation. The first chapter is already available with Early Access, featuring the game's first Tormentor: SawHand, a victim of illegal medical experiments driven insane, now stalking the investigator across the Gray Manor, a suburban residence on the outskirts of Bonefield, MA. 

Each chapter will feature its own unique Tormentor and twists on the gameplay formula: SawHand is invisible under normal lighting and will only appear once illuminated with blacklight, allowing players to locate and evade him. Under normal circumstances, Tormentors are almost impervious to damage and cannot be permanently put down, only temporarily pushed back to buy the investigator some time.

Naturally, the resources to fight the Tormentors are limited: Players need to be thorough in their investigation, collecting items and ingredients to turn into usable supplies for the struggle ahead. There are no conveniently placed medical kits or conspicuously placed ammunition to restock with. Developing a scavenger instinct will be necessary to have a fighting chance against the Tormentors of BoneField. 

The remaining three chapters will be released on Steam as Early Access progresses. They will introduce new Tormentors and unique gameplay twists, as well as terrifying new locales, taking familiar American staples and turning them into places of abject horror. A sandbox update is also planned, to enable players to customize the experience and mix up existing levels with new Tormentors, weapons, puzzles, and more.
