Embark on an epic journey, cross the sandseas, and save a dying world in a unique indie Soulslike
[United States] – February 26, 2026 – It is time to take the oath! Chashu Entertainment and indie.io are proud to announce that Sands of Aura is now available on the Nintendo Switch, Xbox, and PlayStation 5. This unique indie Soulslike places players in the role of a newly anointed member of the Order of the Remnant Knights, the defenders of humanity in the fallen world of Talamhel. The newly forged knight will have to face a new threat endangering human survival and reckon with the price of potential salvation.
Setting out from the safety of Starspire, one of the only remaining refuges of man. Players are free to explore the world of Talamhel at their own pace. The endless sandseas that buried the ancient world can only be crossed with the aid of a grainwake, a nimble sailship connecting the scattered islands that were once mountains. Each offers great opportunities and even greater dangers.
The ancient cataclysm that consumed the world unleashed an undead plague across the land, with the hordes plaguing each corner of Talamhel. The only way to defeat them is by mastering the intricate fighting system at the heart of Sands of Aura: Seven distinct fighting styles, dozens of armor sets, and thousands of craftable weapons with numerous magical upgrades. Beyond that, the only limit is the player’s skill.
Overcoming the challenges unlocks new treasures and side quests, expanding the story of the fallen world. Players wishing to demonstrate their leadership capabilities have the opportunity to expand and improve the Starspire. The emerging community provides further insights into the complex, fraught history of the dying world and grants additional perks and services in the process.
The console release features every improvement and update since the game first launched, including a number of enhancements tailor-made for controller play. These include a purpose-built targeting assist system, a reworked island exploration interface, and refinements to combat balance and the in-game economy, further sharpening the fight for humanity’s survival in a dying world. These updates go live today on Steam as well, ensuring players across all platforms experience the most refined version of Sands of Aura yet.
