Brasília — October 24, 2025 — Fira Soft and publisher indie.io today announced that Kriophobia, a third-person survival-psychological horror game set beneath the frozen wastes of a Soviet bunker, will launch on Steam on November 20, 2025. The full game will be available for $14.99, with a 20% launch discount for 14 days.

ABOUT THE GAME

In Kriophobia you are Anna, a geophysicist who becomes trapped in a long-forgotten Soviet military complex on Zhokhov Island. As she searches for a way out, surreal visions and grotesque abominations draw her deeper into a haunting past beneath the ice. The game blends slow-burn psychological storytelling with tense survival mechanics where cold, scarce resources, and atmosphere are as dangerous as the creatures you encounter.

WHAT TO EXPECT

  • A return to classic survival horror: exploration, puzzles, scarce resources, and tense, avoid-or-confront combat.

  • A unique visual language that mixes comic-ink linework with painterly textures and hand-drawn static camera angles for moody, cinematic framing.

  • Environmental danger from the elements — the cold is lethal and managing heat and supplies is central to survival.

  • A haunting, Slavic-inspired soundtrack that underscores isolation, dread, and the game’s unsettling atmosphere.

AVAILABILITY & PRICING

Kriophobia launches on Steam on November 20, 2025 at 9:00 AM PT. The game will retail for $14.99, and it will be offered at 20% off for the first 14 days of launch.

DEVELOPER STATEMENT

“We believe Kriophobia will leave a lasting impression, with its narrative and symbolism lingering in players’ minds long after the credits roll,” the Fira Soft team says. The team aims to recreate the uneasy, melancholic sensations of classic survival-horror while offering a distinct visual and narrative voice.
